Welcome! I am Courtney Young; Wife, Mother, Homemaker, Farmer, Business Owner, and Freedom Seeker.​

My husband, Sharif, and I grew up in rural Oregon, less than a mile apart from one another.

Our days were filled with adventure, exploration, and the responsibility that comes with rural living. ​

We moved to opposite ends of the state in 2000 and didn't speak again until 2011 when we reunited; the rest, as they say, is history.

We have 2 children (7 & 9), and another on the way, that we are working to raise with the same wild spirit and sense of responsibility that we had instilled in us all those years ago.

In 2020 we sold our home in Oregon and moved to North Carolina. 

It took a year living in Winston Salem to find our dream property in Walnut Cove, and here we plan to let our roots run deep.

We run a diversified farm where we raise ducks, pigs, rabbits, cats and dogs; with dreams of a milk cow, bees, and perhaps a horse or 2 in the future.

Our aim is to help preserve the livestock and the traditions that our beautiful country was built upon, and to become a community of producers where we are all able to thrive.

Sharif and I are current members of the Large Black Hog Breeders Association, Large Black Pig Breeders United, and The Livestock Conservancy.
